Nudes

The  images for the Nudes series were inspired by the female body studies in movement and motion made by the Czech photographer and film-maker Frantisek Drtikol in the late 1920’s and early 30’s.

I worked in collaboration with the Model Maker, Prop Designer and Sculptor John Robertson on a design of large curved shaped structures which could be moved into different positions to surround the nude figure. There were three different female models used in the series, photographed in late 1994 and early ’95.

Black and white darkroom prints by Tony White on Selenium and Gold toned Forte Polywarm Paper.

All photographed 21/4 Square Format Camera.
